GreenFleet awards recognise industry’s best

The 2011 GreenFleet Awards announced its winners last night at a ceremony at the Twickenham Stadium.

Dr Colin Herron, was awarded the Outstanding Achievement Award for his contribution in promoting and developing the North East of England as a centre of innovation for low carbon vehicles and for his work in researching and implementing EV infrastructure. He is currently the MD of Charge your Car, the North East’s Plugged in Places project funded by One North East and the Office of Low Emission Vehicles (OLEV).

Other winners of awards handed out by GreenFleet Magazine included BMW, which scooped the Fleet Car Manufacturer for the fourth year running, Fiat, which claimed the City Car pirze for its 500 TwinAir and Nissan which came top in the Electric Vehicle of the Year category for its LEAF. City

Private Sector Fleet of the Year (below 250 vehicles): Commercial Group
Private Sector Fleet (250-500 vehicles): Iron Mountain Europe
Private Sector Fleet Manager of the Year: Robert Paddock – Commercial Group
Public Sector Fleet Manager of the Year: Mark Green – The Royal Borough of Rental Company of the Year: Green Motion
Private Sector Fleet of the Year (over 500 vehicles): Morrison Utility Services
Public Sector Fleet of the Year (below 250 vehicles): Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead
