Toyota displays new Fun-Vii concept vehicle

The Tokyo Motor Show was the platform for Toyota to display its Fun-Vii concept vehicle.

Fun-Vii stands for “Vehicle, interactive, internet” and boasts personalised functions that can alter the content displayed on the interior and exterior of the car with the same ease as downloading an application.

The whole body of the Toyota Fun-Vii can be used as a display space, with its body colour and display content changeable at will. Indeed the entire vehicle can be used as a terminal to display messages and other information.

Meanwhile, the vehicle interior can also function as a display space; while content such as navigation information is blended into the interior through augmented reality. Also included is a network update function that ensures the software versions are always up to date.

In addition, the Toyota Fun-Vii is able to link with surrounding vehicles and infrastructure including the ability to detect hazardous vehicles in advance, such as vehicles in blind spots.
