The success story of General Motors in China has continued in style after the company announced a 20.4 per cent increase in domestic sales, helping it to a November record of 237,130 vehicles delivered.
During the month, there was a rise in domestic demand for Shanghai GM vehicles – up 7.6 per cent to 113,120 units. Meanwhile, its other joint ventures also enjoyed success – SAIC-GM-Wuling’s sales of mini commercial vehicles increased by 40.4 per cent year-on-year to 119,113 units.
There were impressive statistics for just about every General Motors brand. For example, Buick sales increased 16.6 per cent on an annual basis to a November record of 59,763 units with the Excelle passenger car family leading the field. Meanwhile, Chevrolet had its second best November ever in China with sales totalling 54,638 units and the Cruze remaining the brand’s best-selling model with demand reaching 21,862 units.
In addition, the Cadillac brand topped 3,000 sales for the first time in a single month as it saw its sales rise on an annual basis by 64.1 per cent to 3,008 units.
