New electric SUV announced for Detroit Motor Show

Another day, another announcement of a new vehicle heading to the North American International Auto Show – and this time it is the turn of the AMP Holding Inc electric vehicle company to take centre stage.

It will introduce what it describes as an electric version of an “iconic American SUV” at the event. The new AMP model is said to be based on an all-American image and designed to appeal to fleet users in the United States who want to make a public stance on zero emissions.

Clearly AMP is keen to tease us about what to expect from the vehicle, with few details revealed so far. However, what we do know is that final assembly of the vehicle will be completed at AMP’s new Ohio production facility which also builds AMP’s 100 per cent electric Mercedes-Benz ML model.

A prototype of the electric vehicle will be at the Ride & Drive Track at the Detroit Motor Show.
