A free event is expected to encourage uptake of electric and low carbon vehicles within the fleet sector.
With interest in hybrid and electric technology gathering pace amongst fleets, the EV and Low CO2 Fleet Show will aim to demonstrate the benefits of EVs and vehicles with diminished tailpipe output.
Organised by Fleet World magazine and the British Vehicle Rental & Leasing Association, the annual event is set to take place at the world-renowned Silverstone race circuit in Northamptonshire on April 18.
BMW, Toyota, Lexus, Renault, Alfa Romeo, Fiat, and Citroen have already confirmed that their most eco-friendly models will be in attendance.
This year’s EV and Low CO2 Fleet Show leaves behind former venue National Motorcycle Museum, a measure that was necessary to facilitate blossoming visitor figures.
Ross Durkin, Managing Editor of Fleet World, explained: “Last year’s EV Showcase at the National Motorcycle Museum was a tremendously successful event with more than double the number of visitors we planned for.
“But with so much interest in the EV sector at present we felt a move to Silverstone was needed to give us additional space and facilities in a first-class and easily accessible venue.”
He added: “This year’s EV and Low CO2 Fleet Show will allow company decision makers to evaluate all the options for their fleet by talking to the industry’s leading experts in automotive technology.
“There’s enormous potential for electric vehicles in the fleet sector – traditionally the earliest adopters of new vehicle technology.
“However, we also have to acknowledge that EVs aren’t right for everyone at this point in time and visitors to the show will also be able to get up-to-date information on all the other technologies currently available.”
