German carmaker Volkswagen will expand it’s Up small car family, by introducing a four-door model.
Arriving at dealerships in Germany in May and across Europe by early summer, Volkswagen is hoping that more than half of all Up buyers will opt for the new version of the vehicle.
It will match the engines, equipment versions and dimensions of the two-door model – the engines are capable of producing 44kW/59hp and 55kW/74hp.
Indeed it is only the side profile of the vehicle that has changed. Whereas the lower window line of the two-door model rises towards the rear, it now forms a straight line on the four-door. In addition, the short body overhangs are distinctive; although the front and rear sections are identical.
Buyers of the four-door Volkswagen Up will also benefit from a boot with a 251litre cargo capacity, which can be expanded to 951litres by folding down the rear seats.
The four door model will be available from €10,325 – that’s an increase of €475 compared to the two-door version.
