The new Ford B-Max-set to debut at next month’s Geneva Motor Show-is to offer emissions from as low as 104g/km CO2, thanks to the use of efficient new engines.
Ford say its downsized and optimised engines will mean that its new compact family vehicle will will deliver best in class fuel economy for both in petrol and diesel categories.
The B-MAX also boasts wide-open to the cabin space to give easy access for drivers, passengers and luggage; with the centre pillars integrated into the doors themselves.
The B-Max with a 1.0 litre 120ps EcoBoost petrol engine will offer 114g/km CO2 emissions and fuel economy of 57.6mpg- that means that customers could save up to £387 per year compared with some of the B-MAX’s petrol rivals, who offer fuel consumption under 50mpg.
The new B-MAX powered by a 1.6-litre TDCi engine delivers 104g/km CO2 emissions and 70.6mpg. This compares with 119 g/km CO2 figures from competing multi-activity vehicles on the market.
“Our goal with B-MAX was to redefine the segment through technology and ingenuity – and that includes delivering the very best fuel economy,” said Barb Samardzich, vice president, Product Development, Ford of Europe.
But it isn’t just the engines that give the new B-MAX its efficient nature; features which reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissionsnclude Auto-Start-Stop, the Ford Eco Mode driver information system, Gear Shift Indicator and Smart Regenerative Charging, which charges the battery at the most economical points in a journey.
The all-new B-MAX will debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March before it goes on sale in the UK in September.
