Hydrogen fuelling station opens at UK Millbrook Proving Ground

It is considered one of the leading development facilities in the world for vehicles and their components – and now the Millbrook Proving Ground in Bedfordshire will boast its own hydrogen fuelling station.Hydrogen Fuelling Station Millbrook

In what is a clear indication that a take-off for fuel cell cars is imminent, a new Air Products SmartFuel Hydrogen Fuelling Station was opened by Business Minister Michael Fallon. Millbrook is now the only vehicle testing site in the UK with its own hydrogen fuelling station.

It will also be the country’s only mobile hydrogen station that is capable of offering refuelling for both cars and buses; and is the only UK station fully certified to General Motors’ standard J2601: meaning it meets all performance and safety requirements for hydrogen fuel dispensers.

Air Products (logo, pictured), the supplier of the hydrogen refuelling station also recently provided a station to Transport for London to fuel its hydrogen fuel cell buses; as well as recently opening fuelling stations in both Hamburg and Freiburg.
