Renault to bring electric cars to Turkey

Around two years ago, the Renault-Nissan Alliance was forming partnerships with governments and utilities in major cities and countries around the world, as it bid to put its electric cars into action. Now electric cars are far more well-established: but that hasn’t stopped Renault from spreading their net even wider.

That’s because Renault has now signed an agreement with Antalya Metropolitan Municipality in Turkey to deploy a zero emissions partnership.

As part of the agreement, Renault will help the city prepare for electric vehicles. It will focus on the establishment of charging points for the electric vehicles that have been manufactured in the Bursa Oyak Renault Automobile Plant since 2011 – including the Renault Fluence EV (pictured).

In addition, the parties will work together to promote electric vehicles.

Officially, the task force will be responsible for a number of proposals including: increasing the projects in Antalya that will enable widespread use of electric vehicles; installing and developing charging points for electric vehicles; developing projects for fleets, public spaces and urban areas; and reviewing regulations for electric vehicle charging points.
