This week Renault celebrates the first anniversary of its electric van, the Kangoo Z.E.
Almost one year ago the launch of Renault’s first zero-emission small van indicated the arrival of Renault’s electric vehicle offensive.
The Renault Kangoo Z.E was to be the first of a four model range of electric vehicles that also includes the Fluence Z.E, ZOE and Twizy.

After one year on the market the Kangoo Z.E has got off to a successful start, with more than 5,000 vehicles being sold across Europe.
Almost 3,000 vehicles have been sold in France alone, making the Renault Kangoo Z.E the country’s best selling electric vehicle as it is in 14 other countries.
What’s more, within the framework of a tender issued by the French Authorities’ central purchasing body (UGAP), orders more than 15,000 Kangoo Z.Es to be supplied to 19 French businesses and administrations.
Made at Maubeuge, France, the model was named the 2012 ‘International Van of the Year’ earlier this year, the first electric vehicle to claim the accolade.
Renault has held the position of Europe’s leading manufacturer of light commercial vehicles since 1998 and at the close of September 2012 will have a market share of 15.7 per cent.
