A new minicab service in London has turned to Toyota to ensure that its fleet meets its strict environmental criteria.
Embarque, an executive minicab service in London, is to add 22 new seven seat Prius+ models into its fleet in the coming weeks. A ‘carbon neutral’ company, the firm has an agenda to minimise the environmental impact of all aspects of its business, already having invested in two projects to offset the emissions from its vehicles.
A sister company of Carey Worldwide Chauffeured Services, the firm operates a fleet of vehicles with uniformed drivers 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
At the company’s headquarters in West London, 30 per cent of their electricity is sourcedfrom wind farms via Ecotricity and the firm operates a strict Reduce Reuse Recycle policy operates for all office consumables in conjunction with Greener World Recycling.

The Embarque service is also available in major US cities, where Toyota hybrid vehicles are already a key feature in their service.
What drew the company to the Prius+ is its combination of space and practicality cooupled with low emissions and strong fuel economy. The Prius+ launched just last year, is a seven seat MPV version of the popular Prius hatchback, and boasts emissions from 96g/km CO2 and fuel economy of 68.9mpg on a combined cycle.

We have also been extremely impressed with the support we have received from Toyota during this process.”
All the vehicles are grey T4 grade models, supplied by Currie Motors Business Centre in Twickenham and financed through Toyota Financial Services. Standard features include cruise control, automatic air conditioning, Heads-up display and panoramic roof with automatic sun shade.
