Sometimes green cars can appear a little pricey, but not anymore claims consumer guide, Which? To celebrate the publication of the ‘Which? Complete Guide to Greener Driving’, the independent consumer champion set out to find the best green car deals.

Skoda has produced an excellent green car in the form of the Skoda Fabia 1.4 TDI GreenLine. The GreenLine manages approximately 68 miles to the gallon and impressive CO2 figures of 109g/km. Available in either estate (£12,140) or hatchback (£11,490) there are few greener models available in the UK at these prices. �

Volkswagen Golf - Great to drive and a strong image.
Nissan Qashqai - The funky new Qashqai is ideal for young families.
Mazda 3 - Brisk, economical and fun to drive.
Skoda Octavia - Cheaper than the Golf but not quite as good. An excellent alternative though.
