Volvo launches E85 models

 Thailand has seen more than its fair share of troubles in recent weeks, but that isn’t stopping the country making significant green progress - even if it is thanks to a Swedish car manufacturer. Volvo Car Thailand has introduced two green cars to the country in the form of the Volvo C30 1.8F, which is an E85 flexifuel model, and the Volvo S80 2.5FT which is Thailand’s first and only locally produced flexifuel vehicle. Green Initiative for Volvo

The Swedish vehicle manufacturer has announced a Greenline initiative to help keep its servicing as environmentally friendly as possible. Its Greenline range recycles components from scrapped Volvos and renews them for servicing. This programme sets out the same quality control measures to ensure that its Greenline range of components are of the same quality of new ones, the added benefit being that its Greenline components are more ecologically and economically produced. Volvo Cars presents an aggressive roadmap for reducing CO2 emissions

Together with the introduction of three fuel-efficient DRIVe cars with CO2 emissions below 120 g/km1, Volvo Cars is unveiling an aggressive roadmap for cutting CO2 emissions. The price of going green

 In early September we informed you about the new Volvo sub 120g/km range of vehicles. Well now the preliminary prices of Volvo’s green car push have been revealed. The range will consist of diesel variants of the C30 Sports Coupe, S40 Saloon and V50 Sportswagon and the vehicles will be unveiled at the Paris Motor Show which begins tomorrow. The Swedish car manufacturer has announced that the largest soft drink producer in the world Coca-Cola will be taking delivery of almost 200 new company cars. Mainly involving the Volvo V70 2.0 Flexifuel model, the cars will be delivered to locations throughout Sweden. Volvo Group announce sustainable biofuels co-operation

Starting today the European project BioDME aims to involve fuel producers, distributors as well as the automotive industry to co-operate on developing and potentially introducing BioDME (DME stands for Dimethylether) as an alternative fuel source for the automotive industry. The main benefit of running vehicles on biosourced DME is the very low emissions expelled from the exhaust, mainly due to soot-free engine combustion. Volvo announce the DRIVe sub-120g/km CO2 range

Volvo will launch three new diesel variants of their C30 SportsCoupe, S40 Saloon and V50 Sportswagon at the forthcoming Paris Motor Show. The three models, each achieving a sub-120 g/km CO2 emission rating are branded with the DRIVe emblem and feature a plethora of efficiency-enhancing features. The C30 will offer 64.2 mpg and emits 115g/km CO2, while the S40 and V50 both achieve 62.8 mpg and emissions of 118g/km of CO2; all three models share the same 1.6 litre diesel engine.
