Green Car Events Calendar 2010

The following is a calendar of green car events in 2010. This can include green car motor shows, green car exhibitions, green car races and other special events involving green cars. The events listed may also focus on other aspects of motoring – such as most mainstream motor shows – at which fuel efficient cars may also be displayed.

JANUARY

07-11 SILICON VALLEY INTERNATIONAL AUTO SHOW (USA)

To be held at the San Jose McEnery Convention Centre with admission for adults starting at $9.

08-11 NORTH AMERICAN INTERNATIONAL AUTO SHOW (USA)

Also know as the Detroit Motor show, this event is held at the Cobo Center in Detroit with tickets starting from $12 for an adult.

14- 24 BRUSSELS 88TH INTERNATIONAL ‘MOTORCAR MOTORCYCLE’ SHOW (BELGIUM)

Taking place at the Brussels Expo centre, the 88th edition of the show displays the latest and greatest from the motor car and motorcycle world. With an excellent turnout from the carmakers this year, the show is expected to present around 99.7 per cent of the industry. Tickets cost around €10 for adults.

15-17 SOUTH CAROLINA INTERNATIONAL AUTO SHOW (USA)

Based at the Carolina First Center, ticket cost $8 for adults.

15-17 TOKYO AUTO SALON (JAPAN)

Held at the Makuhari Messe this is one of the world’s largest exhibitions with more than 600 vehicles on display. General admission starts at 2,500 Yen for adults and 1,500 Yen for students.

15-18 UTAH INTERNATIONAL AUTO EXPO (USA)

Based at South Towne Exposition Center. Tickets cost from $7.

15-24 MONTREAL INTERNATIONAL AUTO SHOW (CANADA)

Held at the Palais des Congres in Montreal, Quebec, general admission for this show begins at $15 with family passes also available.

20-24 CAIRO INTERNATIONAL MOTOR SHOW (EGYPT)

At the Cairo International Conference Centre. The 17th edition of the show features everything from passenger cars, motorcycles to heavy goods vehicles.

21-24 MIDLANDS INTERNATIONAL AUTO SHOW (USA)

Held at the Qwest Centre in Omaha, Nebraska.

21-24 NORTHEAST INTERNATIONAL AUTO SHOW (USA)

Based at the Rhode Island Convention Center. Ticket cost $9 for adults.

22-24 MEMPHIS INTERNATIONAL AUTO SHOW (USA)

At the Memphis Cook Convention Center. Tickets cost $7 for adults.

28-30 NEW JERSEY AUTO SHOW (USA)

At the Meadowlands Exposition Center. Tickets cost $8 for adults.

28-31 PENNSYLVANIA AUTO SHOW (USA)

At the PAD Farm Show Complex and Expo Center. Tickets cost $8.

29- 31 WEST VIRGINIA INTERNATIONAL AUTO SHOW (USA)

Based at the Charleston Civic Center in Charleston, the show offers tickets from around $7 for adults.

27-31 HOUSTON AUTO SHOW (USA)

Taking place at the Reliant Center in Houston, Texas, admission costs $10 for adults and children can enter for free. The show will highlight debuts, new concepts and speciality vehicles.

27-31 WASHINGTON AUTO SHOW (USA)

The Washington Auto Show is held at the Walter E Washington Convention Centre. Tickets for adults start from $10.

28-31 SAINT LOUIS INTERNATIONAL AUTO SHOW (USA)

More than 500 vehicles will be on display at America’s Centre and Edward Jones Dome in St Louis, Missouri. Tickets are $9 for adults, $5 for children over 6 years of age, under 6s get in free.

28-31 EDMONTON MOTOR SHOW (CANADA)

Held by the Motor Dealers Association of Alberta the event costs $14 for adults but admission is free for children under six.

28-31 PORTLAND INTERNATIONAL AUTO SHOW (USA)

This year’s event at the Oregon Convention Centre promises to be bigger and better than ever with a number of exciting new concepts on show. Admission costs are $10 for adults, $5 for children aged 7-12, while youngsters under the age of six can enter for free.

30- 07 FEBRUARY PHILADELPHIA INTERNATIONAL AUTO SHOW (USA)

To take place at the Philadelphia Convention Centre.

10-21 CHICAGO AUTO SHOW (USA)

Chicago Auto Show is the largest auto show in North America and has been held more times than any other auto exposition on the continent. This year marks the 102nd year. Based at McCormick Place, tickets cost around $11 for adults.

11-14 MOTOR TREND INTERNATIONAL AUTO SHOW-BALTIMORE (USA)

Event to be held at the Baltimore Convention Centre with admission for adults starting at just $10.

12-14 IOWA/ILLINOIS REGIONAL AUTO SHOW (USA)

This year’s event takes place at the RiverCentre Convention Centre with admission costing just $7 for adults, $3 for children aged 7-12 and free for younger children.

11-15 PITTSBURGH INTERNATIONAL AUTO SHOW (USA)

Based at the David L Lawrence Convention Centre with general admission costing $10 and free for children under 12.

12-15 SPOKANE INTERNATIONAL AUTO SHOW (USA)

The show is the largest gathering of new cars, trucks, vans, and SUVs in the Inland Northwest.

12-14 OSAKA AUTOMESSE 2010 (JAPAN)

One of the top motoring events in the Japanese calendar, the Osaka Automesse takes place at the International Exhibition Centre in Osaka with admission for adults at 2,000 Yen and junior high school students and younger entering for free.

10-21 CANADIAN INTERNATIONAL AUTO SHOW (CANADA)

The largest motor show in Canada, the event, held in the Metro Toronto Convention Centre and Rogers Centre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, takes place in February on an annual basis.

19-21 CARL CASPER CUSTOM & LOUISVILLE NEW CAR AUTO SHOW (USA)

Admission costs $14 for adults and $5 for children – the event is held at the Kentucky Exposition Centre.

25-28 CINCINNATI AUTO EXPO (USA)

All new cars take the spotlight at the Duke Energy Centre with admission costing $10 for adults. Children aged 13 and under get in for free on Thursday and Friday and are charged $2 over the weekend.

20-28 GREATER MILWAUKEE AUTO SHOW (USA)

This event takes place at Midwest Airlines Centre in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and costs $9 for adults, $5 for senior citizens and $4 for children 7-12 with free admission for those aged six and under.

27-07 MARCH CLEVELAND AUTO SHOW (USA)

Taking place at the I-X Centre and featuring concepts, classics, hybrids and Harley Davidsons.

04-14 GENEVA INTERNATIONAL MOTOR SHOW (SWITZERLAND)

03-07 DALLAS AUTO SHOW (USA)

First conceived in 1982, this event attracts around 400,000 visitors to the Dallas Convention Centre in Dallas, Texas. Ticket prices are $11 for adults, $5 for senior citizens, while children 12 and under are admitted for free.

03-07 OKLAHOMA CITY INTERNATIONAL AUTO SHOW (USA)

Based at the State Fair Park.

11-14 GREATER TARRANT COUNTY AUTO SHOW (USA)

Event takes place in Fort Worth, Texas.

3-7 GREATER KANSAS CITY INTERNATIONAL AUTO SHOW (USA)

Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children aged 8-12 at the Bartle Hall Convention Centre in downtown Kansas City, Missouri.

6-14 GREATER ST PAUL & MINNEAPOLIS INTERNATIONAL AUTO SHOW (USA)

The 37th annual edition of the show which is now the seventh largest across the USA. Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for children 6-12 and free for those aged five and under – the event takes place at the Minneapolis Convention Centre.
